Sigma Eye Shadow Base Kit

Sigma Beauty has just released their eye shadow base kits.

YUMM...

Sigma is infamous for producing ulta high-quality makeup brushes, comparable and sometimes even better than M.A.C., minus the steep price tag.

If you're familiar with Sigma's eyeshadow palettes, these bases follow along the same lines.

There is a Bare,

a Flare

and a Dare.

Each kit retails for $36 and includes 3 bases and a matching high quality sigma brush.

For the sake of making comparisons these bases are definitely similar to the M.A.C. paint pots that are often used in place of primers.

(soft ochre, rubenesque, bare study, painterly & constructivist)
(I think).

Sigma bases offer the same kind of pigmentation and staying power as paint pots, but despite the fact that there are almost twice as many shades of paint pots, Sigma's bases come in a greater variety of colorful shades. hough it's nice that each kit comes with a flesh-toned neutral.

And of course the drugstore, or more affordable, comparison to this would be the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows which retail for around $5-$7 a pop (but crease after a couple hours).

Now price!

M.A.C. paint pots retail for $18.50 a pop, where as  a Sigma base sold individually retails for $13. The price of three bases individually is $39, which sounds about right until you factor in the cost of the eyeshadow brush which could be around $12.  So you're actually getting a pretty good deal.

I'm not sure if this holds true for the base kits as well, but  each double ended brush that came with the eyeshadow palettes was completely different, which I think adds to the value of the product. Not only are you getting different shadows, but you're getting different brushes as well. So buying more than one palette wouldn't be a waste. But like I said, I'm not sure if Sigma decided to use the same concept with their base kit. The brushes look relatively similar, to me at least.

If you're interested in taking a look see for yourself there's a link to Sigma Beauty at the top of the page.

Don't Just Wear Makeup,

Rock it.
